Procedure of Greeting Cards
According
to West (2018: 3) Greeting cards are a paradigmatic case for considering what
happens when commodities promise to “fix” emotions, both in the sense of
presenting a solution to a communication problem, and in the sense of capturing
a feeling in a tangible object. Based on Albertsen and Anne (2020: 47) the
procedure of writing greeting card at the classroom as follows
1. Elicit from learners the types of cards that you have looked at so far in this module, such as birthday, congratulations on the new baby, congratulations on graduation, and get well soon cards.
2. Recall that all cards have a message inside. Write a model on the board with a greeting, message, and closing. Draw the learners’ attention to the format of the card.
3. Distribute the handout on the next page and review the task. Review the task instructions and criteria to ensure learners understand expectations.
