Penelitian
Eksperimen/ Experimental Research
Penelitian eksperimen adalah salah satu penelitian kuantitatif
dimana peneliti memanipulasi satu ataulebih variabel bebas (independent variable),
mengontrol variabel lain yang relevan, dan mengamati efek dari manipulasi pada variabel
terikat (dependen variable) . Sebuah eksperimen dengan sengaja dan sistematis memperkenalkan
perubahan dan kemudian mengamati konsekuensi dari perubahan itu. Tujuan dari penelitian
eksperimental adalah untuk menentukan apakah hubungan kausal ada antara dua atau
lebih variabel.
Karakteristik
Penelitian Eksperimen/ Experimental Research:
a) Menggunakan sedikitnya dua kelompok yang terdiri dari
kelompok eksperiment dan kelompok kontrol.
b) Menggunakan kelompok control sebagai dasar untuk
dibandingkan dengan kelompok yang diberi perlakuan (kelompok eksperimen)
c) Adanya pengukuran atau observasi terhadap variable-variabel
terikatnya dan ada satu variable bebas yang dimanipulasi.
d) Harus mempertimbangkan kesahihan ke dalam ( validitas
internal)
e) Harus mempertimbangkan kesahihan ke luar (
validitas eksternal )
