Compararative Research
Penelitian komparatif (ex post facto) adalah penelitian yang bertujuan untuk
menginvestigasi perbedaan antara dua kelompok atau lebih dengan cara mengkaji suatu
fenomena yang ada, kemudian melacak data-data yang relevan yang dimungkinkan
dapat menjelaskan terjadinya fenomena tersebut. Penelitian ex post facto merupakan
penelitian yang variabel-variabel bebasnya tidak dimanipulasi atau tidak diberi
perlakuan sehingga penelitian ini biasanya dipisahkan dengan penelitian eksperimen.
Peneliti ingin melihat kembali, jika dimungkinkan, apa yang menjadi faktor
penyebab terjadinya sesuatu.Hal penting dalam rancangan ex post facto adalah
tidak adanya manipulasi terhadap variabel.
Karakteristik Penelitian Compararative Research Ex Post
Facto
1. Data
dikumpulkan setelah semua peristiwa terjadi.
2. Variabel
terikat ditentukan terlebih dahulu, kemudian merunut ke belakang untuk
menemukan sebab, hubungan, dan maknanya.
3. Penelitian
deskriptif yaitu menjelaskan penemuannya sebagaimana yang diamati.
4. Penelitian
korelasional, mencoba menemukan hubungan kausal fenomena yang diteliti.
5. Penelitian
eksperimental, dan ex post facto dasar logika yang digunakan dan tujuan yang
ingin dicapai sama yaitu menentukan
validitas empiris. Contoh: jika x maka y. Perbedaan antara penelitian
eksperimen dan ex post facto adalah
tidak ada kontrol langsung
