  1. Definisi Penelitian Kualitatif/Qualitative

Penelitian kualitatif adalah jenis penelitian ilmu sosial yang dilakukan melalui pengumpulan dan pengolahan atau analisis data non-nu merik serta berupaya untuk memberikan penafsiran terkait makna dari data tersebut yang membantu memahami kehidupan sosial melalui studi tentang populasi atau lokasi yang menjadi topik penelitian.

  1. Bentuk Penelitian Kualitatif/Qualitative

Dalam  penelitian  kualitatif,  penelitian  dibedakan  menjadi peneliti an  kualitatif  interaktif  dan  non  interaktif.  Penelitian kualitatif  interaktif  adalah  suatu  studi  mendalam  yang menggunakan  teknik tatap muka (face to  face)  untuk menggumpulkan  data,  misalnya studi  kasus, narasi analisis  (narrative  enquiry),  dan fenomonologik. Penelitian  kualitatif non interaktif  adalah  studi mendalam yang tidak  menggunakan  face to face dalam mengumpulkan data, misalnya, analisis isi dan analisis konsep.

3.  Ciri-ciri Penelitian Kualitatif/Qualitative

  1. Bersifat deskriptif analitis, terlihat dari caranya mengumpulkan dan merekap data yang bukan dicatat dalam bentuk angka namun  penjelasan sejelas-jelas dan sedalam-dalamnya.
  2. Bersifat induktif, yaitu peneltiian dimulai dari data atau fenomena yang ada di lapangan yang kemudian memunculkan teori
  3. Menggunakan teori yang sudah ada sebagai pedoman dan pendukung.
  4. Berfokus pada makna yang terdapat dalam suatu fenomena yang diteliti
  5. Mengutamakan akan pentingnya proses penelitian yang berjalan, bukan semata mengacu pada hasil yang ingin dicapai.
