2.1 Curriculum
In
doing teaching-learning activities, there is a basis that is called curriculum.
In order to reach effectively, a teacher should know and understand the
curriculum before teaching the students, since curriculum has been on the basis
of students’ need.
2.2 Definition of Curriculum
Curriculum
is described as the set of courses, course work, and content offered at school
or university. Moreover it means two things: (i) the range of course from which
the students choose what to subject matters to study, and (ii) a specific
learning program. Meanwhile, Winecoff (1989:1) states that it is generally
defined as a plan developed to facilitate the teaching-learning process under
the direction and guidance of a school college, or university and its staff
members.
In
the relation between curriculum and students, Hass (1987:329) states that “The
students are the major untapped resource in curriculum planning. Students are
in the best position to explain many of
the advantages and deficiencies of the present curriculum. Their ideas and
reactions are of very great importance. Research has shown many times that learning is significantly????
