INTRODUCTION
A. Background
of the Study
Language is a means of communication
because language is symbol and content of messages. Without language, all
people cannot understand message and they cannot communicate with other people.
But not all people can get the precise and perfect words that can express their
opinions and expression. Besides that, utterances may have different meaning to
other people. Misunderstanding in communication can be a fatal problem.
English as International language by
which people can communicate each other has great influence in human activity
around the world. It is used in almost all aspects of life, such as science,
technology, politics, economy, trading, business, etc. English has very
important role in international communication, it can be seen that many
countries use English as means of their communication or at least in their
interpretation oral contact.
In Indonesia, English is a foreign
language taught at Junior High School. As a foreign language, English has many
problems resulting from the differences between the native and target language.
The differences may be because of the culture and the linguistics background.
Those differences have great difficulties to be learned. As a foreign language,
English always gets many problems resulting from the differences between the

From the explanation above, it can
be taken a conclusion that translation has important role to cover that
problem. In this regard, Sutrisno (1997: 1) said “at present translation plays
a great role in international communication and the mutual understanding among
countries”. The activity of translation urgently needed as one practical from
of human skills in transferring any important conveyed in English into target
language.
The translation is needed to search
much information of steps especially in using something which has not yet known
before. Therefore, the translation is the key to get knowledge and some
information. To get a good translation, the translator has to know both the
source and the target language very well. They should also know the cultural
background of the text so that they can find the?????????????
